Contact any "Wedding Venue" and ask the price to hire the room for a seminar or business function. Then call again and ask for a "Wedding Reception" the price DOUBLES!! Why? Because they can! Everything you need for a beautiful wedding is an extortionate price. Cars, photography, wedding cakes, flowers the list goes on. As soon as you mention wedding, the price rockets.
Now wedding dresses…. don't get me started on wedding dresses. I read a piece last week (sorry I can't remember where) The writer saw a beautiful dress in New York, exactly what she was looking for but it was black and of course she wanted white. I think the price was $1,000 which seemed reasonable given the quality.
Upon returning to London, where she lived, the exact same dress was spotted in a West End Store. "Is it available in white?" she enquired. "Oh yes" the assistant informed her "its £1200" (converts to $2200 approx) "but I saw this same dress in black in New York for $1,000" she said. "Ah replied the assistant, we also have it in other colours at $1,000 but the white one is in the "Wedding Collection"". Can you believe it?
